raising up her camera slowly, lorelei tried to get the angle just right. she paused for a few seconds before clicking down on the button. there was a clicking sound and then a flash. another few seconds later, lorelei looked down at her camera, examining it. it wasn’t a new high tech camera or anything. it was one of those old ones that was big and bulky. you also couldn’t see the picture with a click of the button, the only thing lorelei truly disliked about her camera. she was saving up to get a new one, a canon but they were a lot of money. that was why she was searching for a job, today in paticular. she had an interview an hour ago that she believed went okay. the only other place she had ever had a job was during college. she had been working at a mcdonalds, gross, forsome money. to make a long story short, she had almost burned down the place. after that lorelei never bothered or wanted to get any job, up until now. she also swore off meat and became a vegetterian.
after a minute or two of examining her camera, lorelei took the string it was attached too and placed it around her neck like always. she never left the house without it. if she did forget it, she might miss all the great things to capture. ashton tried not to miss any opportunity given to her. it was usually the things he missed that turned out to be something wonderful and life changing. she watched as the celebrity she had managed to take a snap of leave. it was some actress from one of those high school drama type shows that lorelei tried to avoid watching. personally she was not a fan of the actress but maybe some good shots of famous people would help getting a job. lorelei glanced into one of the glass windows of a random shop. she fixed her hat and smoothed her wavy dark hair down, then she carefully continued on her way. every so often she would stop to either take a photo or examine the numerous shops. after fifteen minutes of this routine, lorelei heard her stomach growl. she stopped and pulled out her phone from her pocket. the time read three twenty four. she pocketed her phone and glanced around, hoping for some sort of small resturante.
across the street lorelei's eyes came across a strabucks. she wrinkled her nose. she wasn't much of a coffee person, tea was her choice drink. but there was bound to be something she liked in the place. so lorelei quickly made he way across the street and into the coffee shop. she waited online patiently until it was her turn, then ordered a small ice tea and a biscotti. after she paid she grabbed her food and drank and left, deciding to take a table outside because the inside was full. she frowned and buttoned up her jacket to stay warm before sitting down. oh how she disliked the cooler weather. she supposd it was not as bad as some other places had it, she knew very well of the terrible snowstorm on the eastern coast. lorelei took a sip of her drink before taking the camera off her neck and placing it in front of her on table. she scanned the area as more and more people went into strawbucks and more and more tables filled. everyone seemed to have the same idea she had.
